Napoleon was founded in 1976 by Wolfgang and Ingrid Schroeter in Barrie, Ontario, as a small steel fabrication business. Their innovative wood-burning stove with a glass door laid the groundwork for their growth into North America's largest privately owned fireplace manufacturer.
